From movement to navigation: decoding how brain circuits guide behavior
Our team investigates how neural circuits support motor control and spatial orientation in the intact brain.
We study the mechanisms by which cerebellar circuits enable adaptive and precise movements, as well as how multisensory information is integrated to build internal representations of space.
Our research focuses in particular on cerebellar contributions to motor learning and on head-direction circuits involved in spatial navigation.
We also explore how neuronal populations encode, predict, and update behavioral outputs in real time
We combine expertise in behavioral paradigms, neural recordings, optogenetics, and computational approaches to link circuit dynamics to behavior in freely moving animals.
