Biophysics of the Brain

Comprendre comment les cellules gliales influencent le fonctionnement du cerveau et la communication synaptique

Notre équipe étudie la contribution des cellules gliales, en particulier des astrocytes corticaux et des cellules de Bergmann du cervelet, au métabolisme et à la signalisation cérébraux.
Nous étudions les mécanismes par lesquels les canaux ioniques, les transporteurs et les organites présents dans les prolongements gliaux périsynaptiques régulent et modulent la transmission synaptique.

Nos recherches portent également sur la signalisation calcique des astrocytes et son rôle dans la communication entre les neurones et les cellules gliales.
En nous appuyant sur des travaux récents, nous développons de nouvelles pistes de recherche axées sur la clarification tissulaire et les techniques avancées d’imagerie par feuille de lumière.

Nous combinons notre expertise en électrophysiologie, en microscopie de pointe (notamment la super-résolution, l’imagerie 3D et les techniques linéaires et non linéaires), en immunofluorescence et en génétique murine afin d’étudier la structure et la fonction des cellules gliales à travers plusieurs modèles biologiques.
